Kenny Powell, III is a St. Louis-based personal injury lawyer known for one thing above all else: relentlessly fighting for injured people until they get the justice they deserve. Kenny grew up in a family shaped by civil rights leadership—an influence that instilled in him a lifelong drive to advocate for others. But Kenny’s success is the result of his own discipline, competitiveness, and strategic mindset.

A graduate of the University of Kansas, Kenny captained the University’s men’s tennis team, earned multiple Big 12 academic honors, and became a member of the illustrious Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., all while sharpening the tenacity and focus that now define his approach to litigation. He later expanded his global perspective and communication skills while studying in Salamanca, Spain leading to fluency in the Spanish language.

Kenny attended Saint Louis University School of Law on a Dean’s Scholarship, concentrating in negotiations and alternative dispute resolution—skills that now translate into stronger settlements and better outcomes for his clients. After law school, he spent ten years as a licensed sports agent representing Major and Minor League Baseball players, mastering high-stakes negotiation and contract strategy. That unique background gives him an edge in personal injury cases where leverage, timing, and advocacy determine results.

Kenny’s legal foundation is reinforced by competitive judicial internships with the Missouri Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court, giving him a rare perspective on how judges think and how cases are truly decided at both the state and federal level.

Today, as the founder and managing attorney of The Powell Law Firm, Kenny focuses exclusively on personal injury law. He is known for his hands-on approach, strategic case building, and unwavering commitment to treating every client exactly the way he would want his own family treated. Outside the courtroom, Kenny is a devoted husband to his wife, April, and a proud father of three daughters. A lifelong tennis competitor and coach, he has helped dozens of St. Louis youth earn college scholarships through his mentorship and training.
